Aphasia Community Event (ACE)

 Dear all, 

C-STAR and the Aphasia Lab at the University of South Carolina host an annual Aphasia Community Event (ACE). This event is open to people with aphasia, their family members,and anyone interested in aphasia. This year, our guest speaker will be Dr Argye Hillis. Dr Hillis is a speech pathologist and neurologist, at Johns Hopkins University. She will be speaking onLiving Well with Aphasia.

 

The live event is on Monday, March 21st between 12 - 3PM (US Eastern Time, ET) at Segra Park in Columbia, South Carolina. However, Dr Hillis' talk will be at 1pm ET, and you can attend this talk virtually as well, via zoom. To receive the zoom link, you will need to register. Note that this will not be a regular 'C-STAR-style' talk, but specifically aimed at people who have aphasia themselves, as well as their friends, family, and caregivers.

Feb. Stroke Support Group Meeting - Don't Miss Out!!

 Hello Everyone!!

Good News!! With the declining COVID cases we are beginning to see in our community, we have been cleared to hold our February stroke support group meeting in person. But as has been custom, we will also continue to provide Zoom access to our meeting for those preferring to attend via online connectivity

And you won't want to miss our upcoming February meeting!! We have a special guest speaker (Dr. Nathan Rowland) who will be bringing us news of new medical technology to help stroke patients regain hand and arm function. Dr. Rowland is an MUSC Neurosurgeon and is working with Vivistim to provide this game-changing help. See the flyer below for further details.
